This is not a badge on the window. It is a change to how we mix colour, what leaves the building, and what it costs — and it has been running since 2017.

Colour waste we no longer make.
Colour mixed by eye is almost always over-mixed. Whatever is left in the bowl gets rinsed down the drain — every appointment, in every salon, all day.
We weigh what we mix. That single change saves an average of a litre and a half of colour waste a week here, and it has a second effect we did not expect at first: because we know exactly what went on your hair, we can charge you for exactly that, rather than a flat price that guesses.
How the colour pricing works
What leaves the salon
We are a Green Salon Collective salon.
Everything below is collected and sent on to be recycled or recovered, rather than put in a bin. It is a real, physical collection — boxes that go out of the door, not a statement on a website.
Hair
Clippings are collected rather than binned. Hair is a surprisingly useful material once it leaves the floor.
Foils
Metal foil is separated and sent for recycling instead of going into general waste.
Colour tubes
The tubes go back for processing rather than to landfill.
Cans
Aerosols are collected separately and handled properly.
The Green Fee
One pound on your bill. This is what it buys.
The Green Fee pays for the collections — the hair, foils, colour tubes and cans that go out of this salon to be recycled. That is all it does, and all of it goes there.
We would rather show you the line on the bill and tell you what it is for than hide it in a price rise and call ourselves green.
